Cross-country skiing

A beautiful 3 km cross-country ski track starts from the hotel courtyard and goes around the summit of Iso-Syöte. The track is illuminated and crosses woods of trees covered with crown snow.

As you ski along trails winding through forest shadows or around the base of fells, you feel fully present in the moment. Looking at the ancient fells and snow-laden trees, it’s easy to imagine how people once set out to glide through the wilderness. A unique feature of Syöte is its open hillside bogs, where skiers can truly experience the best of the wilderness. These bogland trails open once the frost has set in and are maintained until around Easter.

Now, the well-groomed trails await skiers, whether you prefer classic or freestyle skiing. Here, in Syöte’s winter wonderland, you can experience the pure joy of skiing at its most authentic. The fell landscapes offer a challenge even to seasoned skiers, but there are also enjoyable routes for those seeking a more relaxed pace, as well as for families. Why not plan a trip to a cozy rest area along one of the gentler trails?

The Syöte area offers rugged, wilderness-like terrain with some hilly sections and up to 120 kilometers of ski trails.
