Independent Fishing
The Syöte area offers diverse fishing opportunities — from angling in wilderness ponds to lure fishing in state waters, plus experiences by flowing waters. Remember to check permits and regulations before your fishing trip!
- Ice fishing and angling in Syöte National Park are allowed under everyman’s rights.
- Lure fishing (fly or spinner) in state waters requires a fisheries management fee and, if needed, an area-specific lure fishing permit.
- Fishing in rivers and streams always requires a permit.
Permits can be purchased, for example, at the Syöte Nature Center or through online services like Eräluvat.fi.
The fisheries management fee is mandatory for anyone aged 18–64 fishing by methods other than angling or ice fishing.
