Winter Activities
Iso-Syöte is a true winter wonderland, and winter safaris are the best way to experience its wonders. Set off on a snowmobile, glide on skis, trek with snowshoes, or enjoy a sled ride pulled by huskies or reindeer—the choice is yours.
One thing is for sure: Syöte offers lots of experiences: The pearl-white snow on the fell scrunches under your feet and reflects the glimmering stars and moonlight in the sky. At times, the Northern Lights dance in different colours across the sky. Crown snow turns trees into nature’s art on the top of the fell.
As a guest at Hotel Iso-Syöte, you can step right outside the hotel or your cottage and dive into a variety of snow-filled adventures.
Winter weekly safari program is available from December until April.
Winter weekly safari program
Experience the wonders of winter on our winter-season weekly safari program including something for every day: snowmobile safaris, snowshoeing, joyful husky and reindeer rides, ice fishing, biking, kicksledding and a day trip to Ranua Wildlife Park and the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi.
Hotel Iso-Syöte’s weekly safari program guarantees an extensive selection of winter-season safaris. All safaris include a guide, training, equipment and insurance, and they are easy to join as they all start at the hotel.
Taking part in a safari does not require any previous experience. We reserve the right to change the schedules.
- Departure for the safaris is from the Hotel Iso-Syöte lobby. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start time of the program, or 30 minutes beforehand if you do not yet have your safari equipment.
- Safari equipment can be collected from the safari room on weekday mornings between 8:30–9:30. Snowmobile helmets are provided at the start of the safari.
- As safari equipment, we will provide you with a warm overall, socks, boots, and mittens, as well as a helmet for snowmobile safaris. If you wish, you may also use your own equipment, but we are not responsible for any damage to personal gear during the excursions, such as oil or soot stains.
