Adventures in the Nature

Step Outside Into Crisp Winter Air and Embrace the Silence

Hotel Iso-Syöte offers nature lovers a variety of guided winter excursions that transport you far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – straight into the heart of pristine wilderness.

Snowshoeing

Snowshoes let you explore snow-covered forests and reach areas otherwise inaccessible. Guided at a gentle pace, the trek includes peaceful breaks to take in the sounds of nature – and a cup of traditional campfire coffee.

Ice Fishing

Travel by snowmobile or car to a nearby lake and try your hand at ice fishing. Your guide will show you the best spots and share insights into this traditional winter pastime. Warm drinks and snacks are served by the fire.

Vattukuru Hike

Discover one of Syöte National Park’s hidden gems – Vattukuru. Hike through ancient forests and descend into a quiet, majestic gorge where the beauty and silence of nature surround you. In winter, the hike is done with snowshoes.

Kicksled Rides and Glides

A fun and traditional way to explore snowy landscapes. Glide along on a kick sled as we take a light tour around the summit area. We’ll pause to admire the scenery and enjoy a cup of hot berry juice.

Cross-Country Skiing

Syöte features a network of well-maintained trails for skiers of all levels. Head out on your own into nearby woods or take in the stunning views of the national park.

Downhill Skiing

Iso-Syöte’s slopes cater to both beginners and experienced skiers. The ski resort is right next to the hotel, so hitting the slopes couldn’t be easier.

Equipment Rental

Snowshoes and sleds can be rented directly from the hotel reception. Alpine skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, and fatbikes are available at the rental shop located at the base of the fell.
