Join a snowmobile safari to experience sledging, the fell environment and speed safely with a guide. Hotel Iso-Syöte offers both snowmobile safaris, which focus on exploring the surroundings on a snowmobile, and combination safaris, in which you drive a snowmobile to a husky farm, a reindeer camp or to a lake for ice fishing.

A snowmobile safari first takes you to the foot of the fell and continues through snow-covered woods and over hills, frozen marshes and lakes. Your guide will make campfire and serve coffee during the break.

Snowmobile safari to wilderness

The safari starts from the hotel where the snowmobiles are lined up. The track goes first down hill, and then onwards along fells, through the forest with heavy snow covered trees and over ice covered swamps or lakes. We stop to make a coffee near the campfire. After the break we start the snowmobiles again to drive back up the Iso Syöte hill.

Wildfood and Wilderness 

Embark on an exhilarating snowmobile safari through the forests and hills of the Syöte region, journeying towards a traditional farm known for its mushrooms, garlic, and herbs. Experience the untouched beauty of nature as you steer your snowmobile through ancient forests and along the hillsides of Iso-Syöte en route to Naamanka. Immerse yourself in local culture upon arriving at the traditionally built farmhouse, where you’ll learn about the history of the building and the lifestyle of local farmers.

Your visit includes a presentation of Syöte Wildfood, showcasing the region’s natural bounty: mushrooms, herbs, berries, and garlic. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase handmade products crafted from these local ingredients in the farm’s workshop.

The experience continues with a homemade lunch served in the farmhouse’s Pirtti, where you can taste the local flavors for yourself.

The lunch includes a wild berry smoothie as a welcome drink, followed by a Lappish soup with reindeer meat (or a mushroom soup for vegans), accompanied by homemade bread with self-grown garlic butter. The meal is complemented by self-made berry juice and finishes with a sweet dessert made from local berries or spruce sprouts, served with coffee or chaga tea.

After lunch, the snowmobile safari takes you back to the hotel, concluding a day of adventure and authentic cultural experiences.
